MAGNETIC BEARING FOR ARTIFICIAL HEART
Magnetic bearing works on the principle of magnetic levitation and suspension due to repulsive forces. It generates high speed rotation of shaft without any physical contact. A small input power is required but in case of permanent magnets no input power is required. It offers low friction with no heat losses. Magnets are arranged in repelling positions.It is used in maglev trains, compressor, pumps and in artificial heart to pump the blood.
